The subjects were consuming a high-fat, high-fiber diet in the low dose range, and the subjects in the low dose group received 3.3 mg of prednisone every other day (5 mg with each meal). During the last 30 days in which the weight changes were measured, there was no increase in body weight or weight regain. The results of this study also supported the notion that the body responds differently to prednisone than it does to carbs.
